After leaving the downtown marina, we anchored out in Bahia
de San Lucas opposite the resorts lining the huge crescent beach. This was the
other side of Cabo, literally and figuratively, and it was a water circus. Jet
skis! Glass bottom boats! Water taxis! More jet skis!! Chartered party boats!
Sailing tours! More jet skis!!! The few anchored cruising boats were bouncing
in combined wakes + ocean swell all day long, but it was definitely
entertaining.
We wanted to visit the impressive rock formations at Land's End --the very tip of the Baja peninsula--and so
did lots of other tourists. The famous beach near the end of the narrow cape
(called Lover's Beach on the protected bay side and Divorce Beach on the exposed
ocean side) was so crowded with people and water taxis that we could barely
land the dinghy, and there was no way to snorkel safely among all the glass
bottom boats. We ended up just having a picnic at the "beach zoo",
admiring the scenery, then jumping in the water back aboard Second Wind.

By morning two more cruise ships had anchored in the bay,
and the frenzy was likely to be nonstop. Cabo wasn't our kind of place, but we
genuinely enjoyed watching the circus!
